Pentrecwrt

Here is a first introduction to Pete Morris' new project: 'Pentrecwrt', which carries forward the West Wales setting seen on Drefach Felindre. This OO layout draws heavily on the structures found at Newcaste Emlyn, which was about 8km away from the area modelled.

The wonderful baseboards seen here are the work of my good friend and carpenter Cliff Erett. The design is a little different from the norm, basically with the idea of getting away from exhibitions within our 25 minute target! Theoretically this design will negate the use of any bolts to assemble all four boards. Cliff says have faith!

The Engine Shed is based on Newcastle Emlyn, as is the Signal Box and Goods Shed. I thought it would be novel to model a metal Engine Shed in metal – so I did!

A final photo in this installment shows the Goods Shed, modelled in card. House moves and storage problems have temporarily stalled development on the layout apart from completing the buildings etc. Hopefully we should be back on track (doh!) this year and I can start burning myself soldering track again!
