Kevin Atkinson's 7mm vehicles
7mm horse dray – this is actually a Slaters Plastikard kit for an LMS dray, kit-bashed into a GWR type. |
The conversion was done using micro strip, Plastikard and Slater's brass wire. It was finished with Precision and Humbrol paints, and HMRS transfers. |

Ruston Bucyrus No.4 Excavator. This model was inspired by the photo (Fig. 249) in J.H. Russell's book, "Freight Wagons and Loads in service on the Great Western Railway and British Rail Western Region" (OPC/Ian Allan). The model is extensively rebuilt from a Lionel model (see below). Materials used include Slaters Plastikard, glear glaze, brass wire, conrod bushes,12BA bolts, nuts & washers, coat hanger wire, K & S brass tube for the drums, and brass sheet for the roof. The brass plate was made by Guilplates.
